Content is only as permanent as where you store it.
Today, we’re excited to announce a partnership between Lumera and Talis, the leading NFT marketplace on Injective. Together, we’re bringing Lumera Cascade to every NFT, collection, and real-world asset minted on Talis: permanent, verifiable, decentralized storage.
This isn’t a sponsorship or a one-off integration. It’s the start of shared infrastructure between two protocols betting on the same thing: that what you create on-chain should still exist tomorrow.
The problem nobody talks about
Every NFT marketplace has the same quiet vulnerability. The token lives on-chain forever. The art it represents usually doesn’t.
Most NFT media, including the images, animations, and metadata, lives on IPFS or centralized servers. IPFS only keeps a file alive as long as someone is actively pinning it. When a project goes inactive, when a creator stops paying for hosting, when a server gets decommissioned, the link that once pointed to a masterpiece starts pointing to nothing. The token is still there. The art isn’t.
For a marketplace at Talis’s scale, with 140,000+ wallets and 238,000+ NFTs minted on Injective, this isn’t a hypothetical risk. It’s a slow leak that’s already happening across the industry, one abandoned pinning service at a time.
What Cascade actually does
Lumera Cascade is built to close that gap. Instead of trusting a single pinning service or a centralized bucket, Cascade splits files into pieces, shards them across a decentralized network of SuperNodes, and continuously audits storage through random peer quorums. Nodes that store correctly earn. Nodes that fail get slashed.
The result is permanence backed by economic design, not a promise someone has to remember to keep. Once something is stored on Cascade, it stays. It’s verifiable, and nobody has to keep paying a hosting bill just to keep it alive.
Bringing Cascade to Talis
Starting now, Talis is integrating Cascade as a storage option across Factory, Launchpad, and Escrow, with the goal of making it the default for new mints. That means:
- NFT media and metadata backed by Cascade’s decentralized storage
- Collection assets that don’t disappear if a project goes quiet
- Encrypted storage support for premium and limited-access drops
- A foundation for real-world asset (RWA) provenance, a growing focus for Talis, where authenticity records and asset documentation need to be even more durable than a JPEG
To help creators and the Talis platform migrate, Lumera is putting 50,000 LUME into an ecosystem storage grant.
- The Talis platform itself
- Creators minting through Factory or Launchpad
- RWA tokenization projects launching on Talis
If you’re building on Talis, this grant is designed to make trying Cascade essentially free for the first year. Applications open shortly. Details and eligibility will be shared on both @lumera and @ProtocolTalis.
More than an integration: shared infrastructure
Here’s the part that makes this different from a typical marketplace integration: Talis isn’t just becoming a Cascade customer. Talis is going to run its own Lumera validator and SuperNode.
That means Talis will actively help secure the Lumera network and serve the very storage layer its own marketplace depends on. It’s a structural commitment, not a marketing campaign. It also comes with a self-sustaining upside: SuperNodes collectively earn the majority of all Cascade storage fees, so over time, the fees generated by Talis’s own migration and ongoing mints flow back to Talis. The goal is a storage layer that pays for itself.
This is what a long-term partnership between two protocols looks like: not one team paying another for a service, but two networks growing together.
And there’s more coming
To mark the occasion, Lumera and Talis are teaming up on something for the community: the 101 Collection, a 101-piece NFT collection minted on Talis, with every asset permanently stored on Cascade.
Here’s the part we’re not fully revealing yet: holders who are active in the Talis and Lumera community will get access to special perks tied to the collection. What those perks are will be announced after the mint, so if you’re part of either community, this one is worth paying attention to.
What’s next
This is the beginning of the integration, not the end. Cascade is the first layer.

Permanent storage just came to one of Injective’s biggest marketplaces. This is what’s built to last.
About Lumera Protocol
Lumera Protocol is the Intelligence Layer for autonomous systems, providing the infrastructure AI agents and applications need to operate, transact, and build trust independently.
Lumera brings together five core capabilities in one open protocol: durable memory, digital identity, verifiable execution, economic coordination, and trust. Together, they allow autonomous systems to remember across sessions, prove who they are and what they did, pay and get paid, and build a verifiable track record over time — without depending on any single platform or provider.
Built as a decentralized network, Lumera creates a persistent, verifiable foundation that can follow AI agents and applications across models, platforms, and services. Durable memory is live on mainnet today through Cascade, with identity, execution, coordination, and trust capabilities building on the same infrastructure.
